Injury and Disease Rehabilitation

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) specialise in clinical exercise interventions for a broad range of pathological populations (click here for AEP scope of practice). These persons may be at risk of developing, or have existing, medical conditions and injuries. The aims of AEP interventions are to prevent acute or manage subacute or chronic disease or injury, and assist in restoring one’s optimal physical function, health or wellness.

At (RE)FIT we will develop and teach you an Exercise Rehabilitation program to help restore you to Optimal Physical Function. We will help you regain as much function as possible following an injury to help attain maximal recovery for a safe and effective return to normal daily activities, work duties and recreational pursuits.

For people with chronic illness/pathologies such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, obesity, chronic pain, and others (click here for AEP scope of practice), exercise is a scientifically proven method for mitigating symptoms, aiding in recovery and improving quality of life.

Our AEPs are Registered with Medicare and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and rebates may be available for patients under a GP managed care plan, or covered under various Private Health Insurance funds. We also specialise in providing exercise rehabilitation for clients under Workers’ Compensation or Motor Vehicle Personal Injury Claims. Remember, if you have an open claim and feel you may benefit from, or have been referred for exercise rehabilitation, you are entitled to choose your provider.
